TEXAS DAIRY QUEEN®: LICKETY SPLIT FOOD SERVICES

AS TEXAS DQ’S PREFERRED DIGITAL MENU BOARD PROVIDER WAND WORKS WITH OPERATORS TO INSTALL DIGITAL MENUS FEATURING VIBRANT AND DYNAMIC MENUS.

When one of the fastest growing Texas Dairy Queen operators, Lickety Split Food Service, LLC, was planning to open its first restaurant in 2013, digital menu boards were a must-have.

 A BETTER SOLUTION

With an aggressive business plan to open a new restaurant every 4.5 months, owner Michael Clarke knew he needed to use digital menus in order to stay relevant and competitive in the fierce Texas marketplace. Clarke was the first operator in Texas to use digital menu boards and the first to have them installed in each restaurant he has opened the last 32 months.

Digital menus are now deployed in all of his seven locations, with two more on the docket. Other than the desire to remain competitive and appealing to customers, Clarke’s additional reasons for going digital included; taking the task of updating static boards off of restaurant management’s plates and capitalizing on the flexibility and dexterity that digital menus offer.

 LEADS TO BETTER RESULTS

Clarke employs Red Spoon Marketing and WAND’s six board solution with the four middle boards featuring the full menu and the two outer boards rotating between promotions and LTOs.

In addition, Clarke has plans to add more digital features to his stores to capture attention and entertain customers. He currently uses a customized music program, has flat screen TVs installed in the dining room and is exploring more ways to incorporate digital POPs in the restaurant. As Clarke says, screens are a “kick in the pants” for customers and a great way to promote key items.

“I have never regretted the decision to go with digital menu boards, specifically with WAND. The WAND boards have been a great investment,” says Clarke.

I can also run dayparts more effectively to take advantage of different snack times and busy periods throughout the day.” Michael Clarke, Owner, Lickety Split Food Services
